After more than six years of friendship and a shared connection to sports, Holly and Marcus combined their different experiences, skills and perspectives to create Apex Athlete.
Sports have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing basketball, volleyball and running track, so I know what it's like to be the athlete with goals, dreams, and a love for competition. Years later, I found myself experiencing sports from a completely different perspective as a mom raising athletes of my own.
I also spent several years as a team mom, and that opened my eyes to everything that happens behind the scenes. I worked alongside coaches and parents, helped with fundraising, kept families informed, planned team gatherings, and did whatever was needed to help the team run smoothly.
Today, Marcus and I are building the Apex Eagles youth football organization, which has given me an entirely new appreciation for what it takes to build and operate a club program from the ground up.
Professionally, my background is in technology, business, marketing, and advertising. I've spent years helping build digital tools, improve processes, and use data to solve real-world problems. I've also always loved the marketing side, figuring out what makes someone unique and how to help them stand out.
When I look at Apex Athlete, all of those pieces of my life come together. I'm not building this from the outside looking in. I've been the athlete. I'm the parent. I've been the team mom. I'm now helping build a sports organization. And I've spent my career using technology to solve problems.
Apex Athlete is personal to me because we're building something I genuinely wish my family and so many other families already had.

For me, some of the most rewarding moments in sports don't come from playing, they come from watching a young athlete begin to believe in themselves.
As a father and youth football coach, I've had the opportunity to watch kids grow in their confidence, learn what it means to be part of a team, and discover what they're capable of when someone takes the time to believe in them.
My own experience as an athlete has a lot to do with the way I approach coaching today. I played football to the college level and attended Arizona State, and the lessons I learned through sports with discipline, accountability, perseverance, and teamwork all have stayed with me throughout my life.
I've coached youth football for several years, first with the Jr. Buffs and now as a head coach with the Apex Eagles, the youth football organization Holly and I are building. Starting a club organization ourselves has given me an entirely different perspective on youth sports. There's so much that happens beyond what people see on game day. From supporting families and coaches to building culture, creating opportunities, and making sure you're doing what's best for the athletes.
I'm also a dad of two young athletes, so I understand what families experience on the other side of the field. Practices, games, training, schedules, expenses, and simply trying to make sure your kids have the opportunities they deserve all become part of the journey.
My professional background in sales has always centered around relationships. Listening to people, understanding what they need, and bringing people together. That same mindset is a big part of what I bring to Apex Athlete.
Apex Athlete gives me the opportunity to take everything I've experienced as an athlete, father, coach, and business professional and help build something that can make a real difference for the next generation of athletes.
